Progression to Torment — the endgame loop

Task Bar Hero runs through three acts of stages and into the Torment endgame farm loop. Progression isn't about rushing — it's about knowing when to push and when to stop and gear up.

The shape of the run

There are 120 stages across three acts, and each one nudges its drops a little higher than the last. The endgame is Torment — the farm band you settle into once you've cleared the acts. That's not a finish line; it's where most of your hours go, because it produces the best gear and the steadiest market value. See the whole path on the Stages page or the stage map.

Push, then farm — the rhythm that gets you there

Progression is a rhythm, not a sprint. You push until clears slow, then farm where you are until you out-gear the wall, then push again:

  • Push forward while your clears stay fast — every new stage weights drops higher.
  • When clears slow to a crawl, stop. That stage is your farm, not your wall.
  • Farm it for gear and valuable drops until your power clearly outpaces it.
  • Retune your build toward your hero's scaling stat, then push the next band.
  • Let idle time do the rest — offline rewards bank gold and XP while you're away.

Settling into the endgame

Once you reach Torment, the game changes character: you're no longer racing to the next stage, you're optimising a farm. Pick the Torment band you clear fastest, point it at the drops with the best market value, and let the idle loop and your synthesis plan compound from there. This is where the early grind pays off.

Frequently asked questions

What is Torment in Task Bar Hero?
Torment is the endgame stage band — the farm loop you settle into after clearing the three acts of normal stages. It's where the best drops and the steadiest market value come from, so most of your long-term playtime happens here.
How many stages are there?
There are 120 stages spread across three acts before the endgame, each one weighting its drops a little higher than the last. The full list with drop sources is on the Stages page.
I'm stuck on a stage — what do I do?
A wall is a gear or build problem, not a stage problem. Drop back to the last stage you clear quickly, farm it for upgrades, retune your build toward your hero's scaling stat, then push the wall again.
When should I stop pushing and start farming?
When your clears slow to a crawl, you've found your farm. Pushing one stage past your comfort zone halves your drops-per-minute; sitting one stage back and farming efficiently gears you up to break through later.
